Developed over two stages 65,000 m3/day each, East Matrouh “Rumaila 4” SWRO desalination plant is located on the Mediterranean  coastline east of Matrouh city, EGYPT in order to meet the rising demand for drinking water due to the national development plan on the area. The plant consists of the following key components:  

         Intake system

         Pre-treatment

         High-pressure pumps

         Energy recovery devices

         RO membrane system

         Post-treatment/remineralization

         Product water storage + pumping

         Brine discharge system

         Power supply + SCADA + utilities

         Confirm regulatory compliance with all environmental laws

         Evaluate pipeline design for eco-friendly options

         Map physical site conditions (topography, geology, soils, groundwater)

         Conduct geological field survey and create soil profile maps

         Perform marine ecological survey to document habitats and species

         Complete terrestrial ecology surveys and create habitat map

         Assess flood risks and recommend protection measures

         Model brine dispersion using Delft software

         Analyze socio-economic conditions and community impacts

         Establish air quality baseline monitoring

         Establish seawater quality baseline

         Consult with EEAA on approval requirements

         Assess construction phase impacts

         Prepare comprehensive EIA report

         Manage regulatory review and secure final approval
